FunnyMovies.ai is a collaborative writers room for comedy features and standup sets. Open a project, take contributions from the crowd, and everyone whose work gets accepted owns a piece of it.
Movies, standup sets, or one joke you can't place. Contributing is free, with $1.00 of AI credit on the house.
Comedy has always been written in rooms. Somebody pitches, somebody punches it up, somebody says the line that makes the room fall over. Then one name goes on the cover.
FunnyMovies.ai keeps the room and fixes the credit. Every accepted line is logged against the writer who landed it, converted to impact points, and counted toward that project's contributor pool. Minted when the work is accepted, never clawed back.
Four steps from a logline to a locked draft.
Open a comedy feature, a standup set, or drop a loose joke in the joke bucket. You set the logline, the runtime target, and whether the room can see it.
Writers claim scenes and bits, punch up dialogue, and pitch alternate jokes. Nothing lands in your draft until you accept it.
Each acceptance mints impact points, which set that writer's provisional share of the project's contributor pool.
Scene workups, character grades, and laugh maps show where the draft is soft. Lock scenes until you hit your runtime.
A note on a line, a grade on a character, a laugh rating on a punchline. Contributions are specific, and so is the feedback.
Standup sets are a tree of premises and tags. The room adds the tag you didn't think of, and the laughs get rated where they land.
A joke, a character, a scene, a conflict fix, a plot save. Anything that contributes gets paid the same way.
Every accepted contribution, whether it is a joke, a character, a scene, or a plot fix, mints impact points. Points set your share of the 50% contributor pool and are never clawed back.
Every project carries a credits page, and every accepted line stays attached to the writer who landed it.
Laugh ratings, scene scores, and the leaderboard tell you which of your instincts the room actually pays for.
The person who opened the project. They approve contributions, and they arbitrate the final split.
A provisional split of the project's 50% contributor pool, allocated by impact points. If the project earns, contributors share in it by that split.
No. One tag on somebody else's premise is a real contribution. That's the point of the name.
Yes. Projects are either open to the room or locked to the people you invite, and you can change that at any time.
No. The room grades the joke, not the résumé.
