These Contributor Terms ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and FunnyMovies, meaning the site at funnymovies.ai and its owners ("FunnyMovies", "we", "us"), governing your use of the Service at funnymovies.ai (the "Service") and everything you contribute through it. By accepting these Terms or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old. The Service hosts R-rated comedy: profanity, sexual humor, and raunch are expected and permitted. By using the Service you confirm you are an adult who chooses to see and write that material.
Accounts are created by invitation from an Admin and accessed by single-use sign-in links. You are responsible for links and sessions issued to you; do not share them. Your display name is your screen credit. You may not impersonate anyone.
"Contributions" means everything you submit: scenes, lines, punch-ups, jokes, characters, beats, notes, votes, recordings you upload, and edits you make with or without AI assistance. You represent and warrant that your Contributions are original to you (or that you hold every right needed to contribute them), that they do not infringe or misappropriate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or other right of any person, that any recording you upload is of your own performance and everyone in it consented where the law requires, and that you have the authority to grant the rights below. You confirm this representation again every time you submit or upload.
Movie projects. You grant FunnyMovies an exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, sublicensable, royalty-bearing (per Section 6) license to use, reproduce, adapt, combine, edit, perform, display, distribute, produce, and otherwise exploit your Contributions as part of any FunnyMovies project and any production, adaptation, marketing, or derivative work based on it, in any medium now known or later developed. You waive, to the extent permitted by law, any moral rights that would interfere with this. FunnyMovies owns each collective movie project and its screenplay as a whole.
Standup set projects. A set is owned by the performer who created it (the "Set Owner"). By contributing to someone else's set you grant the Set Owner and FunnyMovies a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, adapt, and perform your Contributions in that set and its recordings. Contributions to sets earn ledger credit but not revenue share unless the Set Owner separately agrees with you in writing.
The Joke Bucket and suggestions. Material you place in a bin or suggest to a project is licensed as above for whichever project type it lands in. Your credit rides along.
AI-assisted writing. You may use the Service's AI tools. The human who submits a Contribution is its author of record. You may not submit material you know to be copied from a third party, including material an AI reproduced from a third party.
Votes surface material; Admins decide what enters the canonical script or set, and Admin decisions are final. Nothing you submit is guaranteed to be accepted, produced, performed, or kept, and accepted material may later be revised or removed. Admins may remove any content or account for any reason, including taste.
Unreleased scripts, sets, notes, and the identities of other contributors are confidential. Do not publish, perform, or share room material outside the Service without the Admin's permission, except your own standup material in your own sets.
The Service uses third-party AI providers (currently xAI for text and image generation and Deepgram for speech) to punch up, score, voice, and transcribe material. Content you submit or record is sent to those providers to deliver the feature and is processed under their API terms. AI outputs are suggestions, may be wrong, and are not professional advice. If you use the recorder or upload a performance, you consent to the recording being transcribed; the file is processed for transcription and not retained. Links you add to performances hosted elsewhere (for example YouTube) are embedded references governed by that platform's terms, and removing the link here does not touch the hosted video. Do not record other people without their consent where the law requires it.
Raunchy is fine. Illegal is not. You will not submit or use the Service for: content that is unlawful, defamatory about a real identifiable person, threatening, or that sexualizes minors in any way (zero tolerance, immediate termination, and reporting as required by law); infringing material; malware or attempts to break, scrape, or overload the Service; circumvention of usage limits; harassment of other contributors or FunnyMovies staff; or impersonation of FunnyMovies or anyone else. Nothing here limits your right to describe your honest experience of the Service.
The Service, its software, design, prompts, scoring systems, and generated components are owned by FunnyMovies or its licensors. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service to contribute. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any project will be produced, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any amount will ever be payable under Section 6.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FunnyMovies will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or amounts actually paid to you under Section 6 in the 12 months before the claim arose.
You will fully indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FunnyMovies and its owners from and against all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your Contributions or recordings, including any claim that material you submitted infringes or misappropriates a copyright or any other right, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights. FunnyMovies may run automated originality checks on submitted and assembled material; those checks are a courtesy, not clearance, and do not reduce your responsibility for what you submit.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach, unlawful use, or risk to the room. Licenses you granted, ledger entries already recorded, and Sections 4 through 16 survive termination; accepted Contributions remain in their projects and continue to earn their ledger credit.
We store your email, display name, optional photo, your Contributions, votes, comments, AI usage counts, recordings you choose to transcribe (processed, not retained), and links you add to externally hosted performances. We use this to run the room and pay contributors. We do not sell it. Questions: info@funnymovies.ai.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Except for Admin determinations of Impact under Section 6, which are final, any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS in Delaware, and you and FunnyMovies each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and FunnyMovies may seek injunctive relief in court for violations of Sections 7, 9, or 10.
We may update these Terms. When we do, the version number changes and you will be asked to accept the new version the next time you sign in; continued use after acceptance is agreement. Questions: info@funnymovies.ai.
